2009 Special Issue on New Advances in Nonlinear and Optimal Controls of Robotic and Autonomous Systems

International Journal of Robotics and Automation is pleased to announce a special issue of New Advances in Nonlinear and Optimal Controls of Robotic and Autonomous Systems. The issue will consist of 12-15 papers on new design methodologies of nonlinear and optimal controls and their applications to robotic systems, autonomous vehicles, and aerospace systems.

Professor Frank Lewis (http://arri.uta.edu/acs/) is a well known prominent researcher who over the last twenty years had made exceptional contributions in the areas of nonlinear and optimal controls of robotic systems, including robust control, adaptive control, neuro-control, etc. He has published 6 books in control theory and its applications to robotic manipulators and aircrafts. His textbook on Optimal Control by Wiley is widely used and award-winning. The special issue to be published in December 2009 is to showcase the recent advances in these subjects on the occasion of Frank Lewis's 60th Birthday. Original research papers matching the theme of the special issue are welcomed.

All submissions should be made electronically to Professor Zhihua Qu (by email and to the address below). Once received, the submissions will go through a standard review process. Publication of the special issue will follow the schedule provided below. Should there be any question, please contact the editors of the special issue.
