A clustered Differential Pulse Code Modulation (DPCM) lossless compression method for hyperspectral images is presented. Spectra of a hyperspectral image is clustered and an optimized predictor is calculated for each cluster. Although, encoding requires clustering and computation of prediction coefficients, decoding is performed using precal culated clusters and prediction coefficients. The achieved compression ratios presented here are compared with ex isting methods. The results show that the proposed lossless compression method for hyperspectral images outperforms previous methods.
