Abstract

In this paper, a collision detection and resolution algorithm is proposed for Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex (OFDM) based wireless LAN (WLAN) environment. This algorithm exploits the inner structure of collided preambles in OFDM based WLAN when different users have different carrier frequency offsets. A subspace based high resolution estimation method is used to estimate the carrier frequency offsets of different users to detect and resolve collisions. Thus, there is no additional delay or throughput loss. This paper also introduces different application schemes of the algorithm in different system scenarios and presents simu lation results.
