Abstract

This paper presents an application of neuro-fuzzy technology in smart materials and structures. Two adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference systems with hybrid learning rules are used to locate the impacts on smart composite panel. The first adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system determines abscissas of impact location. The second adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system determines ordinates of impact location. The hybrid learning rules are a combination of steep descent backpropagation and least-square estimation.
