UWB Pulse Shaping Filter Design using Hermite Rodriquez Functions

In this paper, we investigate the design of pulse shaping filter for ultra-wideband (UWB) communication systems. We used Linear FM and Hermite-Rodriguez basis func tions. The design problem is formulated as a general non linear optimization problem with frequency domain con straints. Such a formulation is quite flexible and can ac commodate both frequency and time domain design spec ifications and constraints. Computationally effective ap proaches to solving the nonconvex optimization are pro posed. An example of designing a pulse meeting FCC re quirements is presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
