Abstract

A cooperative Web caching system is based on groups of Web proxy cache servers that share cached objects. How to define an efficient cooperative web proxy cache system is not a trivial work. This paper points out the principal elements that have to be considered for building a cooperative Web caching systems. We have designed a caching system taking into account those elements. This system helped us to define a basic Web caching architecture that is flexible. A flexible Web caching system means a Web caching architecture that endures changes in the environment where is being implemented (changes on network behavior, which in term, might cause changes in Web object validation policies and types of caching communication).
