Planning Methods for Improving Spectrum Efficiency in Multi-radio Networks

With the increasing of multi-media services demand, optimization of the overall usage of frequency (or spectrum) has become an important issue for mobile communication. This paper provides a new planning method to improve spectrum efficiency in the mobile network that integrated Dynamic Single Frequency Network (DSFN) scheme. The physical network structure will be adjusted, depending on broadcasting or personal data service. Finally, the results show that the new planning approach provides a new idea to improve the spectrum efficiency, and the released spectrum by this method could be employed by other applications or services.
