Optimising Hearing Aids Fitting using Evolutionary Algorithms and Bluetooth Technology

This paper presents an optimisation software that would aid medical practitioners and patients find an optimal parameter setting based on evolutionary algorithm. This algorithm is designed to perform an automatic fitting of hearing aid. The fitting software is downloaded into the Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), as well as the software that allows to communicate with hearing aid. The proposed method combines evolutionary algorithms and medical expertise to achieve interactivity. Communication between the patient, the cochlear implant and the practitioner is done through a PDA and uses Bluetooth technology.
