Strategies for Enhancing Instructor Immediacy in E-Learning

Abstract

Scholars have argued that in E-learning, there are less face to face opportunities and thus lack instructor immediacy. This paper proves that construction of an online learning community can enhance instructor immediacy in the E-learning process. The instructor can enhance immediacy to students by implementing multi channels to ensure fluent information flow, as well as holding both equality and authority to students. Through adopting these strategies, the online course, Introduction of Digital Media Communication has gained popular recognition among students.
