Interchannel Interference Reduction by Uplink Beamforming in OFDMA Systems

In this paper, we investigate the effects of beamforming based on an array response vector (ARV) on an uplink syn chronous multicell orthogonal frequency division multiple access system. Both interchannel and cochannel interfer ences are considered to obtain signal-to-interference (SIR) upper bound. Also, the effects of frequency reuse factor in multiple cell operation on the system performance are considered. The minimum number of array antenna ele ments can be obtained from the analytic results under given operating conditions, which will be useful in designing an antenna system in real systems.
