Abstract

In this paper, we present a novel interactive system for scripting human motion. Our system allows the user to compose human motion interactively via graphical tools in a short period of time. Single cycles of motion capture data of standard activities are carefully chosen as model motion clips. For composition of non-standard activities, we introduce a novel concept of vocabulary set which consists of different poses of individual limbs and torso of human body. We also develop a novel trajectory adaptation method for different activities. Any motion on any arbitrary complex path can be generated using our method via a series of automatically applied transformations on the human skeleton hierarchy. The resulting motions provide a rich library of human motion.
