This paper is concerned with development of safe and secure software for autonomous mobile robots. After defining principal concepts of system safety and relationship between safety and security, we discuss the safety requirements of autonomous robots and the types of hazard relevant for interaction of robots with humans. In the following we review several levels of so called intent specification, which alleviates development of safe robot control software. Finally, we describe determinism and completeness analyses, which can be performed on the intent specification
