Parameter Identification in Chaotic Systems with Delay

A method for parameter identification in hyperchaotic systems with variable parameters is presented. The method is based on synchronizing a driver and response systems by continuously minimizing a scalar error function as it is transported in the vector field of the response system. Parameter identification is demonstrated in two synchronized hyperchaotic systems described by Mackey-Glass nonlinear first order delay differential equations with variable parameters.
