Computational Fluid Dynamic Modelling of a Wells Turbine

This paper describes further work conducted into developing a wave generator model for use as a teaching and research tool to aid the understanding of wave generation. This follows on from a previous paper [1] where the basic structure was developed. This paper studies the computational fluid dynamics of the improved Wells turbine which is now a two stage turbine. The software package CFX is used to generate simulations and test the turbine efficiency over a range of turbine speeds and air velocities.
