This paper presents a state-feedback control scheme for a three phase PWM Voltage Source Inverter (VSI). A comparison of the state-feedback and the classical cascade control algorithms is presented for the VSI. The average state-space model is developed and it's comparison with a switched model is shown. The oversampling technique for digital control is used to obtain better controller performance for the switched model. The performance of the control schemes are illustrated using computer simulations.
