Abstract

In this paper, we show how Petri net (PN) based supervisory controllers can aid and assist in hospital planning and emergency response system resource management. We then present a method to show how the developed PN controllers can be reconfigured when the availablability of hospital resources become unavailable or the medical system priorities change. The contribution of this paper is that it relaxes the assumption of fixed medical resources and specifications in the control of medical resources as assumed by previous literature.
