Fuzzy logic, expert systems, and oil exploration
The web-based Fuzzy Expert Exploration Tool (FEE Tool) is a fuzzy expert system developed to reduce exploration risk for companies interested in oil exploration in the Lower Brushy Canyon formation of the Delaware Basin of southeast New Mexico. The FEE Tool uses unique fuzzy inference methods, and is available to users through the Internet using a Java-capable web browser. It is built on a three-tier model and is implemented using Java Applets and Java Servlets supported by Tomcat.
