This paper discusses a novel approach based on discrete orthogonal polynomials for efficient image feature representation and reconstruction using moment functions. The method incorporates a highly simplified mathematical framework using matrices, as well as a block-wise reconstruction technique to eliminate possible occurrences of numerical instabilities at higher moment orders.
