Structured Genetic Algorithms (sGAs) offer signifi cant benefits over simple Genetic Algorithms (GAs). In particular they are able to solve difficult problems which are in nature deceptive or non-stationary. Though interest into the sGA model has declined in recent years, research into sGAs still offers potential for significant contributions. This paper identifies a number of research topics in the sGA area that are still open.
