Simulation of Drill Collar Motion by Laplace Transformation

In this paper lateral vibration in an unbalance drill collar in oil well has been studied with nonlinear effects of stabilizers clearance and friction. A simple model of mass-spring is used to compare the trajectory of drill section from Laplace transform method and numerical method .The operation of numerical method has been accomplished by a C++ program (Runge Kutta) . The operations of Laplace transform has been accomplished by a Maple program. This program can predict the trajectory of the collar section and the stability of its motion.
