In this paper the results of a study of the laboratory gyroscope ECP750 modelling using least squares estimation algorithm are shown. It represents the first of two parts for the analysis, design and implementation of a MIMO control system for the gyroscope ECP750. It also shows a proposal to decompose the 4x2 model into two SISO systems followed by one 2x2 system. The estimated operating points to which linear models were obtained are 200 , 00 and -200 .
