Abstract

In grid computing environments, CPU availability prediction is a serious issue especially to CPU-intensive applications. The predictions of CPU availability which are generated by the network weather service system (NWS) are accurate, credible and effective to grid users. NWS are currently deployed for Unix/Linux system so it is necessary to develop a tool for Windows which can generate the same useful CPU availability predictions. This paper introduces the design and implementation of CPU Availability Forecaster for windows. The experiment results show that this tool can make accurate predictions of CPU availability, thus increases the efficiency of users’ and schedulers’ CPU resources selection.
