Improve Harmonics Analysis by using an Active Filter for Low Voltage Distribution System

This article discusses the designing of an active harmonic filter to improve electricity usage and overcome harmonic problems experienced when using electrically operated components while satisfying harmonic restriction standards set by Taiwan Power Company. This will improve the power factor and thus improve the quality of the power system. We will conduct this analysis by experiment and design an active filter that will be added to the system in order to improve harmonic current. This article discusses the analysis of power system harmonics, and designing an active filter in order to bring down cost and effectively improve the quality of the power system.
