Adaptive Interpolation Algorithm for Hierarchical Image Compression

This paper presents a new adaptive interpolation algorithm for hierarchical image compression. The algorithm is based on parameterized decision rule, which is being adjusted to the given image during the process of compression. The algorithm presented is compared with the known ones.
