Direct torque control (DTC) of induction machines is known to have a simple control structure. To maintain this simple control structure while at the same time improving the performance of DTC in terms of switching frequency and speed sensorless, a novel technique is proposed, a neural network speed estimation for a constant fuzzy controller switching frequency. The simulated and experimental results prove the usefulness and feasibility of the proposed technique.
