Gradient vector flow, snakes, colour image segmentation, colour gradient.
This paper presents a novel framework for gradient vector flow for object segmentation in colour images. The work extends the results reported earlier in [1], [2] for colour images. In order to evaluate the performance of the colour gradient vector flow with respect to intensity based snakes, experiments were conducted on colour images. The results show that the proposed snakes successfully find contours and perform better than the corresponding version that considers intensity only.
