Abstract

In this paper, an extension of the shear-warp volume rendering algorithm [1] for visualizing multiple properties of an object by dependent rendering of data sets of different properties is presented. One of the properties of the object is defined as a spatial reference for the other – the so-called dependent – property. Both properties are rendered using a volume rendering technique, with the dependent property in dependence on the reference property. The resulting combined rendering image is a projection of both properties at the same time and allows both for a precise localization of features and recognition of relations between the properties.
