Abstract

3-D morphing is a shape transformation from an object to another one. This paper presents a new method for the mor phing between two objects with different topologies. Our method is based on the generation of approximated model of a given object by deforming a sphere. Accordingly we can easily make a correspondence of the two models by giving a correspondence between two spheres. In addition, we also propose a method of generating intermediate mod els in which some kinds of topological transitions are con sidered.
