An intelligent process monitoring and fault diagnosis environment has been developed by interfacing a data acquisition and control software with a knowledge base system. In particular, the KPWin++ expert systems development tool is integrated with the DASYLab data acquisition and control software for effective monitoring of abrupt changes of important system’s variables and the results are used for the final real-time diagnostic conclusions by the expert system. The presentation of the implementation and developing of the intelligent monitoring process is the overall goal of this paper.
