Modelling the Dynamics of the Generalized Korteweg-de Vries-Burgers Equation using Boundary Control

Abstract

The nonlinear boundary control problem of the General ized Korteweg-de Vrie-Burgers (GKdVB) equation:  ¢¡¤£ ¥  ¢¦ ¦¨§©¢ ¢¦ ¦ ¦¨§ ¢  ¢¦   ! " #%$& is con sidered. Different control laws were derived for different values of ' (i.e., when ' is an even positive integer, and when ' is an odd positive integer) to show that the dynam ics of the GKdVB equation is globally exponentially sta ble in (0) 1  ! 2 . Numerical results using the finite element method are presented to support the analytical results.
