Abstract

This paper presents a new technique for tuning fractional order controllers (FOC) based on fractional reference model. The model is represented as an ideal closed-loop system whose open-loop is given by the Bode’s ideal transfer function. The controller parameters are determined in frequency domain using some suitable fractional order approximation methods. The basic ideas and the derived formulations are presented. Several examples are presented that demonstrate the effectiveness and validity of the proposed methodology.
