Abstract

Ultrasonic scaler is one of dental equipments that is used to treat periodontal disease. Ultrasonic vibration from scaler tips can remove some deposits or plaque on the tooth surface, especially the space between the teeth and gingival. Patients will suffer pain when the regulator setting in an ultrasonic scaler is not suitable. This paper explores how is to build additional equipment in an ultrasonic scaler to adjust scaler tips vibration based on patient endurance. The design and the implementation of this equipment which is based on ANFIS technology can control the ultrasonic generator more precise and sophisticated. As a result, the equipment will increase the quality of periodontal treatment as well as to develop dental equipment technology.
