Development of a DC-DC Converter with Symmetrical Output Applied in Renewable Energy Sources

This work introduces the development of a DC-DC converter with double forward topology, operating as boost voltage, with symmetrical output. Topologies already used with a RDC snubber and with a LCDD snubber are presented as well, being the later a non dissipative device for better power density and for obtaining a soft switching. Among the issues addressed are the characteristics and functioning of the LCDD converter along with the stages of operation and the equationing. A description concerning applications of this converter and how it works with renewable energy systems, shall be presented.
