Abstract

Large deployable space antennas are gradually used in recent years for commercial telecommunication for which customers can just use a smart phone-sized device. This paper proposes a new kind of large deployable space antenna structure with 30m diameter. Through modeling and simulation of the deploying processes with different conditions, the complicated multibody system can be deployed successfully. Through practical test of an actual small model with 3m diameter, such a structure is also deployed successfully. Through the analyses from theoretic to practical, it reveals that our scheme of the new structure is feasible and abstractive.
