3D Modeling of a Class of Objects in Different Engineering Analysis Field

Abstract

There exists a class of objects that the described regions of them in different engineering analysis fields are different; therefore 3D modelings of these objects in different engineering analysis fields are necessary. Waveguide slot array antenna is a typical example of this class of objects. We take 3D modelings of a typical waveguide slot array antenna as examples in different engineering analysis fields. An effective 3D model transformation algorithm from solid elements to triangle elements is proposed. A deformed inner cavity model extraction method is also proposed. Through these modelings, mechanical, electromagnetic or thermal analyses can be effectively carried out. It is very useful for system level analyses of these important electronic equipments.
