Abstract

To make thorough use of satellite formation technology benefits, accurate control with reliable performance is required. However, model uncertainties and external disturbances influence both reli- ability and performance criteria which are a well-known challenge through the control system design. In this article, a robust H∞ state feedback control is developed using the Lyapunov stability theory and linear matrix inequality approach to handle the forma- tion flying position control when dealing with the input saturation. The proposed control law guarantees the H∞ performance of the relative motion dynamics in the presence of the parametric uncer- tainties, un-modelled dynamics, and also the disturbances coming from the atmospheric drag and earth non-spherical mass distribu- tion. Finally, the results of the numerical simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of the given method.
