Abstract

Second-order nonlinear trajectory smoother is coupled with conven- tional cascade control for the position control of linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM) to reduce output ripples. Force and position to phase current conversion based on neural network is implemented for the modeling of the nonlinear magnetic behaviour of LSRM. The reference currents generated are used by the inner current control loop. Load observer is also introduced to tackle un- known disturbances and change of system parameters. The proposed control scheme guarantees robustness against change of system pa- rameter and load disturbances. Simulation studies are included to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.
