Abstract

In this paper, it is shown that the reduced order modelling for some class of interval systems can be done using conventional approach of Routh criterion. The proposed approach is based on Anderson et al. corollary on Kharitonov’s theorem. The main advantage of the proposed approach is that instead of dealing with interval system model and interval arithmetic rules, a reduced order modelling is carried out only on a linear system model. This approach gives direct formulae for obtaining reduced order model of some class of interval system. Moreover, this approach gives improved reduced model with smaller computational cost in comparison to the other existing methods. This proposed approach is tested on an interval system model which is given in [8] and comparative results with other existing methods are presented.
