Abstract

Forum New Learning (FNL, www.fnl.ch) is a Swiss Vir tual Campus project which aims to provide the academic community with teaching and technical support in respect of new learning technologies. In contrast to the central facilities located at universities, our objective is to set up what is known as a "Community of Practice". We now have around 400 professionals supporting each other through the mutual exchange of practical knowledge. One of the main challenges of the project lies in how a col laborative learning process might best be encouraged, so that not only is practical experience shared, but also inno vative new knowledge is produced.
